You Have Seen It All

You have seen it all–
The ingratitude of scattered children
The wind-swept promises
Of friends and foes
To keep in touch
A world turned upside down
By devoted hate
Unmoved by grace
Or fenceless love
You have seen it all
While the rain trickled through
The broken tiles
Of your timeless house
Your clear-eyed voice dispelled
The serenity of smug smiles
You have seen it all–
And awakened in us the rage
We had once senselessly
Drugged asleep,to escape
The sleight of hand of fate.
