Let’s give her the due

Bundle of joy for few
Bundle of burden for most.
A girl when she was born,
Many a times was left to drown
In flowing stream or at the muddy coast.
A fighter that she was,
She lived against the hopes.
Fighting all the odds,
Resisting all the malise.
Life was a rocky terrain,
Not a ride in chalise.
Asking for nothing,
But a pat for her efforts.
All that she asks for is love
Not the luxuries and comforts.
Born of a mother, to be a mother too,
To give life to many such ones
Who will treat her still as a mat?
A life was born to give birth to lives,
Let us make her bloom,
Let us bring her out of strife.
