Who’s that behind the mask

Who are you, behind that mask you wear?

Real and true, or something to declare?

Are you hiding or just following the rules?

What happens later on when the mask you get to lose?

Will you still be wearing one, just one we cannot see?

or will you finally get to be you authentically?

one good thing from this pandemic we have not talked about

this is me, you see me now? I might just scream and shout.

About God’s Girl1

Hello I write about what I know and I just try to let the words flow from my heart and soul. I have one of those minds that never switches off and because my poems are pretty simple I find the process very therapeutic and releasing for my mind too.

The poet confronts a number of difficult issues in this poem wherein thought and emotion are equally strong : the issue of identity, the issue of the pandemic , the issue of communication , the issue of authenticity, the issue of relationships , to name a few.
