A break is a moment so much needed,
A break from mundane life, a tonic so much needed,
Seeing something different,
When satiated with everyday commitment,
Feeling something divergent,
Instead of usual strife, sucking life energy
Bringing blues and even monotony.
.
Indeed, we need money for survival,
I need it too for survival,
But saving my sinking soul withal,
With some rest and renewal,
Will miraculously help me to replenish wonderfully,
To carry on superbly,
With more vigour and better performance at work,
And with more patience with… haha… any jerk.
.
Yes, a vacation is a therapy
A much crucial therapy
For life to bloom in beauty,
To realise the immensity of the magnificent universe,
And me as a speck in it with insignificance …
Why not collect beautiful moments of significance,
Instead of collecting things only of unimportance?
.
What a dream it is to lie on the shimmering sand,
Or to swim in the blue lagoon of an island,
Or simply to sit on the shore
And admire the rippling waves of the sea, more and more,
Merge in it evermore,
Feel soothed in spirit, so relaxing and fresh,
More so, sipping coconut water, cool and fresh,
And getting a break from life’s entangling mesh.

Reminiscent of WH Davies’ poem, ‘ Leisure’ which begins ::
“ What is this life if full of care ?
We have no time to stand and stare “
A change is as good as rest, they say. So three cheers for vacations !
