At the very first sight, Victoria Falls took my breath away,
Swept me off my feet, I seemed to be blown away,
By the gushing falls, sending up a heavenly mist
Like I had signed with destiny a tryst,
To have the chance to view this spectacular sight,
So transporting, I swear by the Lord’s might.
It’s etched in my mind eye,
This paradisiacal, mind-blowing phenomenon, aye!
.
And from the top of Tiger hill, that chilly morning,
The brilliant sunrise on the Himalayas, so mesmerising
Oh! I felt the moment of a lifetime, so lost in amazement,
I gazed and gazed, heart racing in wonderment,
The more so, with tourists around clicking excitedly
At the sheer luck of viewing the highest peak,
Usually clad in mist, Mount Everest, so panoramic,
Exposing her beauty in the brightest possible hue
Really, I could not believe that my dream had come true!
.
Darjeeling, the terracing tea plantations,
Houses almost perched on high ground,
Just like in Shimla, Missouri,
And oh, the beautiful landscape of Ooty
The verdant cedars of Manali,
The River Beas running smoothly,
The snow-capped mountains posing romantically,
Boating in Dal Lake or the back waters of Kerala coolly,
Such a blessed treat for the eyes and soul really!
.
The city of Quebec, held me spellbound,
With roads on hilly terrain, going up and down,
The Niagara Falls made me click a thousand times ecstatically,
Going up, up, up, on CN Tower dizzyingly,
And yet joyfully,
Going up the striking Mont Tremblant zipline enthusiastically,
Or simply admiring Australia’s The Blue Mountains,
Or trekking up Cape Town’s Table Mountain,
Or just walking on the beaches shimmering,
Are all so endearing,
Making me feel life is beautiful,
If we give ourselves opportunities to make it beautiful!
