The Lost Balance

The unending shadow of loneliness,

Casted gloom on all the coming days.

She once loved laughter and celebrations

She was life of all swarms that happened.

Once she had preferred to live in her cocoon

Long time back as they say.

She was innocent, naïve

Totally unknown to worldly ways.

She would see people overlooking her.

She changed herself, perked herself a bit,

With her vibrant polished looks every corner was lit.

She soaked herself in unwavering adulation

But yet mental peace and content she did not achieve

She started searching for love which would be hers steadfast

She chose love for now to settle in the family ties

Soon lost into family chirps and blues,

She got so busy that she forgot to pay her social dues.

She found herself forgotten and ignored,

She again missed all the lavish attention,

The way she got all the praise

and the way people were floored.

She was a failure in maintaining equilibrium

Between the social demands and family ties.

She had forgotten the facts of now and here

While telling herself all the sweet lies.

I would simply re-iterate my initial reaction to your previous poem. ” A very comprehensive and impassioned poetic narrative that, perhaps on reflection strains the limits of its own remit. The reader’s active interest might ,on reflection,be sharpened by a marginally shorter poem and possibly a discernible verse structure ? “

“The Lost Balance” ,is very moving and deeply poignant work.Above all ,it showcases the strengths of the author’s poetic narrative voice;one of understated melancholy.
