Tears not saline

The multitude of tears
moved down her cheeks.
Hues of blood and relief were mixed there.
And wonder was tears were not saline.
A life full of anguish and pain for others,
Her life was a threat to Humanity itself.
Men fell in love with her scorn,
and worshiped her ugly heart.
Beyond understanding
of how it was happening,
The Power above was at a loss.
A heart that hadn’t cried
since loss of her beauty,
She was epitome of power and ruled the world.
