Why do we need soldiers?
On subzero glaziers, freezing to death.
Why do we need the young?
Parching in deserts….dripping in sweat.
Why do we need sons to die?
And leave wombs and homes deprived.
Freedom shouldn’t be so costly,
That we sacrifice day after day,
The strongest, the bravest child.
Which world is better?
One that defends or
One that constructs.
Freedom from fear is the greatest,
The fear of the fear is the wildest,
A vicious cycle its means and end,
An infinite repetition of mistrusts.
Every time when men of valor,
Are given coffins that we chose.
Shouldn’t we feel the same heat,
The same chill down the spine.
Then only we will be thrifty with our fears,
Some necessary, some out of proportion.
Then only we will know to truthfully praise,
The brave, the strong, the fearless, the wise.
The wisdom of one world and one humanity,
Where hunger is not fed with painful strife,
Where ailing are not cured with new wounds,
The soldier is the farmer, he is the savior.
He can be so, only if alive,
He deserves the freedom,
That he tirelessly strives,
Near to home’s embrace.

Contemporary events trigger a chain reaction in this fascinating poem.Freedom comes with a price tag and it takes two to tango, though.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful encouragement…:)
Just a perspective ….Everything come with a price tag…but sometimes things become overrated, overpriced…. If only we could live as one world…one humanity…not us or them….but as one…and build together a better world…not nations…but better world.
Human nature is primed by society to fear anything that’s different from us, be suspicious about it….But once we understand, accept, we will know we all are the same..human 🙂
Yes a tough dream in today’s world. But we are dreamers??
…we can dream…I hope… 🙂
