Stabbed with trust

A young bright child was he.
Apple of the eyes of family,
Mother doted on him night and day.
That fateful morning,
He left for the school,
Kissing his mom sweet goodbye.

Who knew ,

it would be the last time she would see her little guy.

An hour later he had breathed his last,
As parents rushed to see him,as they got the news.
Found stabbed in heart,
He had no chance.
There was anguish,anger and furore,
No one was successfully finding the one who did the heinous chore.
Weeks later ,a knife was found,
The accused was another senior who tried his plan.
And the little chap just went to him with trust like a baby swan.
Who knew a juvenile criminal was lurking behind the face,
Who wanted to kill just to stop an academic race.
As a mother to a young child,I shivered with horror,
What if someday someone tries the same with…. God forbid.
Should I teach my child then ,not to trust anyone at all!

Just See Lord Almighty ,

your creation has suffered such a mighty downfall.

A worthy poem whose subject is of intrinsic merit.
However, irrespective of the aforementioned virtues, greater attention to detail and lay out with regard in particular to line length would have served the poem well.
