Skirmishes of life

Helter-skelter skirmishes, big & small,
This life has pushed my back to wall,
Most of time shoved in to trenches,
Warding off avalanches of brutal punches.

Worse than a rat that gets caught in trap,
Am lured to land in some kind of mishap,
A combat with my own whims and fears,
My head firmly stuck in sharpened shears.

Defied odds to gain foot in life’s battle,
To be one of the herd of bell rattling cattle,
Feeble whimper in place of battle cry,
As cruel life threw dirt in my eyes

A touching poem but one that also shows the poet’s “ never say die “ spirit in the face of the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune .

‘A combat with my own whims and fears,’….life is indeed full of different hues every day dear poet… but the struggle goes on …nowadays with this pandemic it is no better but let us hope to see light soon.
