Sing a Song

Sing a Song

Sing a song of gamblers
Pockets full of dice
All the poor folk wanted
Was some bags of rice

When the bags were opened
Bullets began to sting
Bombs destroyed the villages
Drones were on the wing

The rich were in the stock exchange
Counting out their money
They knew their bread was buttered
They had plenty of honey

Another part of Mother Earth
Became an ugly scar
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends—
It was a lovely War !
