As the ropes tighten
what does the body feel?
Does it regret
or does it feel fulfilled.?
Does it sigh
or does it smile ?
Does it feel the ache
or does it feel the peace?
Does it feel asleep
or does it feel alive?
As the rope tightens
the body feels no pain,
abandoned by the spirit
it wakes in a new realm.
Tightening ropes
I still believe
is not justice at its best.
I might be mistaken, but I seem to recall a prominent Capital Punishment case in India recently. That aside, even without the context, this remains a very powerful poetic meditation on the issue aluded to earlier.
Yes Sir it is against capital punishment! thank you. so much.:)
