Boomeranged in all the nooks your shrieks
When the snake of quake its venom hissed
Bits of hearts lay scattered in debris
With your dreams plunged in molten abyss
Your houses have broken and ribs loose
Look at the sun rising, you can too
Rise like a phoenix –

Nepal, don’t cry!

World grieves deep the loss of your kin
And gives credence to your chagrin
Damage will reverberate for long
Around and in the land you belong
But think of the precious lives saved…
Not all souls have landed in heaped graves
Rise like a phoenix –

Nepal, don’t cry!

Rise and pick strings from where you had left
Don’t waste cries and let your strength abate
Rise, you have the mettle and steel to face
Light within will heal your hearts again
The Sun, moon and stars will guide your way
March on with the torch shining your way
Rise like a phoenix –
