Morning Mandate

I wake up to my Iphone. It insists I inspect
Its importunate inbox : I do, with interest.

My fingers find my flask, another favourite friend :
Handy for hydration, happy a hand to lend.

Hand sanitiser sprayed, hands now wholly hygienic,
Time taken to toss in traditional tulsi tonic.

The oxymeter ogles : O dear, our onerous tasks !
Must do’s include oxygen tests, and mandatory masks.

A pomegranate peeled, a precursor to prayer;
I reach out for my rosary, relieved it is right there.

A simple silky scarf , softened by years of use,
Just right for reverence, rose pink, with faded hues.

Post Prayers , I pop my pile of pills ,with purposeful resolve :
All problems that the day may bring, I am prepared to solve.

    An excellent,vivid delineation of the poet’s ”morning mandate” in the form of couplets.A poem that ”speaks”!
