Modern Day

Modern Day

The Lord has always been
He will always be
Always loving
There is no app for that.

He made the world
And all that’s in it
It blows your mind
But there is no youtube video.

He talks to you through the Bible
If you will quietly listen
Just read it every day
Because he has no facebook page.

Going to church listening to the preacher
Going to Sunday school and studying your lesson
Praying every day and night
Because that is His social media.

Give your love to Him
And he will return the favor
Just ask and he will give

All God has to give is free
You only have to believe
No computers or ipods are involved
Just you and God one on one.

About Jan P

I was born and raised and still live in the great state of Oklahoma in the U.S.A. I live in Oklahoma City and have lived her for over 40 years. Came from a small town in eastern Oklahoma. I was raised on a farm as my daddy was a sharecropper. I worked for the Department of Defense for over 30 years. I am now retired and trying to catch up on all the things I didn't get to do when I worked. I have written poetry for many years, but only recently started writing more since I have found a place where others can enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

” Modern Day ” is right up there amongst the very best of the Faith-Centered works that it has been our privilege to share. I particularly enjoyed the sharp ,witty narrative contrasting our “modern” wordly ways of communicating with the Spiritual and eternal. A really delightful poem.
