Life is a lousy restaurant

Insistent queries & evasive answers,
Anger eating the soul like cancer,
Killing silence bursting banks of patience,
Cataclysm robbing life’ s iridecence.

Mind is foggy and path is unclear,
Shadows of life getting darker here,
Unsolved equations piling up in heaps,
Drowned in whirlpool of life ten feet deep.

Hailstorms of fate pounding with noise,
In tear- floods & sigh- tempests lost poise,
Except facing the tides, there’s no choice,
I scream but throat fails to release voice.

Life is like a lousy and old restaurent,
Fate cooks & serves things I never wanted,
The yarn spun by me ended up being noose,
I hang around leaving it around neck, loose.

A very interesting conceit , metaphor or extended simile is used by the poet in comparing life in the world to the experience of dining in a raucous restaurant. The self deprecating tragi – comic tone of the poem is very engaging .
