Last Chance

It was no use it was the end of all we had
It was no use it was the cap of all that’s bad
We had no way to know just why it had to be
We had no way to stop the end that was so sad

We had no way to know that soon it all would end
We had no way to know just what was at the bend
It was no use to pray or cry or bang one’s head
The Last Chance yes , but no , nought to extend

No, No ,No one can hope that they always shall win
No, No, No one can hope that they conquer all sin
No , No , No one can hope to be master of Fate
No , No , No one can hope that they shall save their skin

So let us pray to Him , Who has the power to help us all , save us !
So let us say to Him , Give us the power the wherewithal, save us !
So let us use our love , and pray with all we have within us , save us !
And let us hope for love , to help us still go on in ways small , save us !

Lyrical in its nature, this is a faith-based poem where the ultimate superior power alone can come and guide us to love and respect each other more, as the last ray of hope in a rather submerging world.

Thank you so much, Brindha Vinodh , especially for noticing the lyrical nature of this spiritual poem. I was experimenting with three types of hexameters which give the poem three different kinds of rhythm , with iambic hexameters in the first two stanzas , and two types of classical hexameters in the last two stanzas.
