Between the dusk and dawn
midst of shallow breaths
I was holding a bit of life
from where I saw flashes
of heaven and hell.
On the outskirts of a dreamy sky
I danced with rainbow colours.
The dais sparkles with lightning
but the cloudburst dropped me
like a thundering despair
where I lost between
some said and unsaid words.

A conflation of the incisive, contemplative and surreal rendered with the author’s inimitable poetic aplomb.
Admirably brief, this poem is remarkable for the power and skill with which the poet has sustained the extended simile of light / enlightenment and lightning amidst mention of twilight, flashes , cloudburst , thunder, rainbow and sky on the one hand and life and loss on the other.
A multi-layered vision; an impassioned soul.
Powerful ink which touches the soul.
