If people were wine,
They wouldn’t ever lie,
Of their constituents,
Filling in mouths,
Truthfully confessing,
All sins and crimes,
All fragrant vice.
If people were wine,
Should guard them,
Secret in heart’s cellar,
And sip as comfort,
In darkening closeness,
All notes low and high,
All intoxicated love.
If people were wine,
Could be tasted right,
Tested in what league,
They stood, what class,
How well they aged,
All wisdom and humor,
All trancing and music.
Sigh people they are,
Not full bodied wines.

Broke the hibernation from Destiny Poets with a lovely poem. Loved the metaphor and philosophy in this composition Sashikala.
