I met an Angel

I met an angel once
I didn’t know it then
That’s because I couldn’t see
Through my wall of sin.

I had to pray real hard
For God to forgive
Without that forgiveness
I wouldn’t know how to live.

It took me a while to understand
That God in his wisdom had a plan
He had known it forever
Every since the world began.

The angel tried to tell me
That God loved me very much
I didn’t want to listen then
I couldn’t believe in such.

I wish I had the angel back
So I could tell her she was right
I know God loves me now
Or He wouldn’t help me write.

For all that I am and will be
To God I am very grateful
For all the blessings bestowed
And all the wonders the angel did unfold.

About Jan P

I was born and raised and still live in the great state of Oklahoma in the U.S.A. I live in Oklahoma City and have lived her for over 40 years. Came from a small town in eastern Oklahoma. I was raised on a farm as my daddy was a sharecropper. I worked for the Department of Defense for over 30 years. I am now retired and trying to catch up on all the things I didn't get to do when I worked. I have written poetry for many years, but only recently started writing more since I have found a place where others can enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
