From the Ashes, Shall I Rise!

Mock at me, criticise me, spit venom on me,

In any way belittle me, and my poetry.

Being a human being,

With finer sentiments in my being,

I shall certainly be scorched emotionally,

Feel tormented and suffer physically,

Probably from a splitting headache, atrocious really,

But my indomitable inner self will take over surely!

My determined spirit,

Will ever stay lit,

Despite facing tempests, tumultuous,

Causing destruction disastrous.

Knowing that every storm does abate

Its fury, all we need is to await,

Await the opportune time, patiently,

And perseveringly.

Where there is will, there is a way, undeniably,

If I keep the fire burning, passionately,

See brighter days, I shall assuredly,

For nobody can snatch my love from me.

However much I am burnt by people’s negativity,

From the ashes, shall I rise assuredly,

Yes, like the phoenix, victoriously,

And fly gayly on the wings of poesy.

An emotionally charged poem with laudable sentiments of self- motivation . The process of learning and growing is never easy.
