For You, My Son

You came in my life,
A mundane life flowered with blossoms,
Your dimpled smile became my cherished asset.
The days and years to come,
A blur but a sensation in which I reveled.
The lonely years became a journey.
I continued with the strength,
You passed on to me.
A friend, the companion that I missed,
You became my dream and aspiration.
You drew people with the hum of your innocence.
They became my co-travelers in the journey called life.
You, my Son, You are my shining star.
You are the breath, I breathe.
You are the heartbeat that pulsates,
And keeps me alive and kicking.
