Don’t be silly

You snap your fingers

And a poem is lit in my heart.

With the gleam of your eyes,

You arouse magic in my imagination

Making me seek for answers

Beyond the universe.

You call me silly and I say,

Being silly is bliss,

Had I been wise,

I would never be so close

To your heart

As I am today

And will always be.

Oceans apart,

And yet, no light years apart,

We live in parallel worlds…….

Mine, a perfect blend of terror, betrayal and pain,

A mosaic of confusion

A cabal-controlled-planet

Where weeds are many and flowers few,

Despondent and distant from reality.

And yours is one where there is

Neither regret nor remorse,

Where pagodas,temples, spires and minarets

All stand in equal pride

With no tinge of prejudice,

Where higher reason

Discovers the Ultimate Truth,

Where competition yields to cooperation

And hatred surrenders to Love.

As darkness descends across my night,

And I think of the broken key

Of my piano,

And the suffering of something

I want to forget,

We suddenly become comets

Cruising in Cosmos’s space.

We look at the whirling asteroids,

The triumphs of Egyptian architecture,

The Pharaonic pyramid tombs,

The Great Wall of China,

The Taj Mahal,

The interplay of red, green and blue

And our feelings kiss each other

In this glorious emptiness.

I bite gently your ear and say,

‘Our journey has been perfectly

Choreographed by fate.’

And you reply,

‘Don’t be silly,

Our fate lies in our hands.’
