Defining Me

I am impulsive
and a little obsessive
can’t deny being compulsive….
Spontaneity is my Trump
and I love it when I jump
with happiness, I cheer and thump….
Future I cannot plan
In the past, my best I ran
and in the present, Smile with my clan….
I write poetry
my emotions carefree
My love and passion, an evergreen tree….
I can’t premeditate
I can’t anticipate
fool I am; says the world, as I precipitate….
I was born
a girl, a thorn
I triumphed it all, now success I adorn….
I react and not respond
I can’t define but feel the bond
Am easy to please, but hard to correspond…
I am simple
small pleasures ample
my happiness yet no one can trample….
I am confident
I carry a trident
Empathy, a big smile and honest intent….
What is better
I do not bother
I react or respond, it really doesn’t matter….
As long as I love
peace and the white dove
Million blessings, will always fill my trove…

An interesting combination of a list of observations about the narrator’s own personality and the poet’s exercises in metreless rhyming.
