Creepy Fog

The fog creeps in on silent feet
Cloaking the darkness in defeat
Things change again in that respect
And you cannot seem to connect.

Things never are what they seem at night
But the fog spreads chaos just in spite
It changes sounds that you hear
And makes your heart beat in fear.

Fog has a strange effect
And opens the world a new prospect
It makes you fear what you cannot see
But yet it is exciting just to be.

After you are tired and can barely stay awake
And you feel like your heart is gonna break
Then you wonder if you are going to weep
That’s when the Lord lets you fall asleep

And so the creepy fog had its way with you
You know in your heart there is nothing you can do
But the Lord always has a plan for everything
And He makes the creepy fog go creeping.

About Jan P

I was born and raised and still live in the great state of Oklahoma in the U.S.A. I live in Oklahoma City and have lived her for over 40 years. Came from a small town in eastern Oklahoma. I was raised on a farm as my daddy was a sharecropper. I worked for the Department of Defense for over 30 years. I am now retired and trying to catch up on all the things I didn't get to do when I worked. I have written poetry for many years, but only recently started writing more since I have found a place where others can enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

” Creepy Fog ” ,is an entertaining work making effective use of a rhyming scheme that adds to its overall impact. My own impression is that the poem’s qualities and lightness of touch make a most suitable for school age children.
