I love you sideways,
In spasms of insane rapture
Across the screen, into the mind
From the heels, through the veins.
This night life of trees grows into us,
From prickled leafy joints to silver limbs,
And I call you by foreign names
In the most native tongue of my mother
And whisper them, wordlessly, into your veins.
Indeed, I love you sideways,
On oblique arms and sloping thighs
Into the uneven angles my heart bursts.
An aesthetically pleasing work that catches the unprepared reader out ,like a storm warning in the tropics.A deep and satisfying draught of poetry leading to intoxication.
As usual, your comments sparkle with generosity. Much obliged!
