Open the door and a spell of silence
If I can call you now or later…
Night is prefaced by a sultry evening
Now a soothing breeze blowing,
A piece of paper is flying around
Scrap of paper or is it done away with?
Smell means flowers and perhaps spring
Is there a swarm of honey bees on a tiny flower?
Where to find them in silent hours?
Is there a swarm of honey bees on a tiny flower?
Where to find them in silent hours?
Immerse in this darkly universe
If only one can think of survival,
Life is barely getting a look in now.
If I want to capture the mien of my circle
It is the time to go back behind the eyes
And change the way to see the world.
Perceptions and perspectives , whether psychological or temporal are invariably provide a rich seam of possible narrative tropes for skilled and skilfull practitioners of the poetic art.Did I detect something of Borges and magic realism in this ?
felt nice & quite reassured- I don’t know why, but the simple feeling that a poet brother thinks in the same lines as I do- “change the way”.
Louis- Yes, as if a magic realism sweeps into the body of work.
Lokesh- well said.
“It is time to go behind the eyes…” I love that line.. So much depth… Beautiful work, Gopalji.
