Plucking unripe mulberry,
From childhood hedges,
Gathered in lace pinafore,
Memories stain deep red.
****************
First bite of ripe strawberry,
Smothered in satin cream,
Like youthful love sensuous,
Feelings drenched in red.
****************
They came in all hues,
Black, blue, red, berries,
hues of a relentless heart,
Dying, hurting, loving true.
