As life is on the run,
A memory flashes in my mind.
A tiny quiet dusky girl,
waiting for some quality attention,
to the mermaid in her,
who wants to float in an array of thoughtful spectrum.
A moment later ,I envision a buxom beauty teenager,
shying away from all the unwanted attention.
She wants to be invisible to all but none
She wanted to be light of the eclipsed Sun.
Years later, she comes back to my mind,
Attentive,responsible and confident,
But still looking for reciprocal love.
Memories flash by now,
A woman in forties,
trying to hold onto the child woman in her heart.
A woman who wants to live in the past
as well as who wants to reach out to the future.
As life is on the run,
memories of the past crash with visions of the future.
A protected daughter, moving on with tiny steps,
to bloom and unbloom
with greying hairs making the mark.
An engagingly wistful poem.
A delightful poem in which past, present, and future coalesce.
A beautiful poem, I enjoyed reading it very much…you have captured the ‘shadow’ of your life.
It is one of the best poems I have ever come across ! The realistic portrayal is perfect. One wonders who she could be !
