After seeing

After seeing all that is happening across the world,

We have stopped jubilating at others’ misfortune.

There is an awakening to super-consciousness

And all feelings of pain and desolation have evaporated

And become clouds with silver linings.

Now, many have grasped what life is all about

And their sanity is neither a show nor a fiction.

The inevitable practicalities and detours of life

Are not only seen but felt in every cell of the body.

Bold and daring, reflective and emphatic,

The sea no longer looks tumultuous

And the wild weather fatalities seem so far away.

Focused on scenic beauties and wonders,

With an evocative prayer in our heart,

We see the hard and despairing times

Melting away like snow

And turning into water.

We look at the clouds, then our gnarled fingers.

We look at the heart-shaped leaves of rich green

And then place our hands on our hearts.

We look at the violets peeping from the ground

And touch our heads, emptied of all conflicting thoughts.

We listen to the final teaching and preaching

While the rapture dream wraps our soul;

Together, we shift to the ultimate consciousness.

This poem reads like a fairy tale but is really an optimist’s view of life as it appears to the poem . While the rosy flowery view of life taken in the poem has its own beauty and value it air- brushes the misery and angst that millions continue to wallow in , with no relief in sight . Such sufferers if they were to read this poem with its smoothly transitioned end would perhaps say, “ If only this were true for us, too ! “

Dear Amita, you saw the heart of my poem as if with my own eyes dear sister. I write to open eyes of those are either sleeping or pretend to be sleeping. And for those who are wide awake and fully aware of what is happening around us, you being one, I look for support to bring the desired change.Stay blessed dear sis, and let us continue being partners in this journeying.
