When you are as old as I
Something happens and I don’t know why.
You look at life in a different light
Especially when you are alone at night.
You’re memory dims a little bit
And your body don’t seem quite as fit.
When you think about it you don’t feel old.
You seem to become a lot more bold.
You know life can be short or long
And you want to be living strong.
If you know God you feel His love
You know it comes from far above.
You know when God calls you home
He won’t leave you all alone
He will be with you each step you take
If He’s in your heart for His name’s sake.
Neither time nor man can come between
If you let Jesus keep your soul clean.
Keep a constant prayer on your lips
And He won’t let you make any slips.
Whatever you sow you also reap
So pray to God your soul to keep
Think of your life like a fine wine
And don’t give God a deadline.
When it’s time He knows what to do
And if you are wise, so do you.
Just turn your life over to God
And you will always be awed.
I really liked the central idea and flow of the words. A worth-reading.
A very confident and absorbing exposition , through poetry, of wisdom and maturity.
