Victorious

Often a flip between virtue and vice-
forever at loggerheads,
apt to show their sides.
The ills seem fair in an inebriated state.
But the evil trembles with fear
when the malt evaporates,
and the good becomes clear.

References to,”malt” and “inebriate” places the reader in the Symposium. That word in its original classic Greek sense, referred to a learned philosophical discourse accompanied by the quaffing of wine. Most agreeable. As indeed is this particular poetic vignette.
