Verse-worth dinner

Last night I’d a poetic dinner
I made a sandwich of verses
stuffed with phrases fresh from oven
sizzling with sauce of metaphors
spiced with few alliterations
tangy puns, irony, sarcasm
that kept changing hues of verses
gulped it with hyperbole salad
to top it I took a spoonful
dessert of classic similes
mixed with sweet onomatopoeia
It was the best dinner ever
