Unknown Soldiers

Brother in this civil war
We are both on different sides
You are with the wounded
And I am with the blind

Brother when its over
You can light an eternal flame
Tell them every secret
Just please don’t use my name

Brother wrap me in some swaddling clothes
Then nail me to a cross
But make sure no bones are broken
Or the prophecy is lost

    Hauntingly brilliant ! I was reminded,in a way, of Wilfred Owen’ s ” Strange Meeting”,another excellent war-centred poem.
