Night rages in the wilderness
Of the heart
The systolic rhythm is all in a discord
A little nestling opening its beaks
For a morsel of moonshine.
It’s a daily eclipse now
The earth reveling in a somersault
On its axis.
Dolphins’ carcasses black and white
Blacken the conscience of the white Arctics.
The moon has gone to sleep
In the seven sleepers den
The world
Shrouded in a thick black coat
Waits patiently for Prometheus to return.
Very Noir-ish! One of the things I find pleasure in,besides coming across quirky or unusual phrasing,(always a boon), is the occasional word outside of my usual parameters, such as “systolic”. ?
Thank you Louis, I take that as a compliment, and, am thrilled. Thanks for encouraging me with your appreciation. ‘Systolic’ and diastolic- the rhythm of the heart.
p.s. I meant… ‘Noir-ish’ as a compliment!
