The poor dark raven

The dark Raven on the wall,
Gives us a mind numbing shrieking call.
The poor guy is oft ignored
We prefer to turn a deaf ear to this eye sore.
Is it because it is ugly and not so wise,
Or just because it is black, not the colour of sunrise.
Yes, it is too loud to bear,
We even consider it ominous if it is too near.
I don’t find a reason for all the hatred it gets in its share,
Does it convey not being pretty and melodious
Only deserves a harsh stare!
