The Park Mistress

I see couples, walking hand-in-hand

Footsteps rhyme, in tuned with love

Upon our showered, morning dewed

Lime-shaded blended grass.

Shimmering, glowing, fresh crisp sounds,

Underfoot upon this ground

And as with each breath, I undertake

Does this my park, in full autumn bloom,

celebrate.

As Autumn blows his gales, and

Torments with thunderous rains

I step outside in solace,

Making each step, a step of haste

Encouraged by full lovers’ sake.

Enhanced in love of life, do I stand

Upright, protect indeed, do I partake.

This is my birth-right

For Lovers’ sake.
