With face round and rubicund,
I crossed the Rubicon,
Leaving the rubbish, the rubble and the ruckus
To take care of themselves.
I have no safety deposit box, no safety lamp,
No safety belt, safety measure or safety valve,
And yet, I feel so safe, like a sunflower
Dazzling yellow in yellow sunshine.
Mind brimming with memories,
Sweet and sour, a melange incredible
And formidable, that stood the test of time,
I emerge with wings to fly with the winds.
I led a rich life of my own,
Powerful and motivating,
With resonances mellifluous,
Like ruched curtains, each fold
Adding beauty and grace to the other.
I never yielded to the bare and barren
And yet learning a lesson
With every time and tide,
Always close to those men and women
Of a rare intellectual caliber,
Of past, present and future,
Where our higher consciousness
Kissed and touched each other,
Immortalizing and eulogizing the sacredness
Of such relationships which like ships
Choose their destinations and the harbors
To set their anchors in the deep blue waters.
And now, another journey will start anytime.
If this journey was engaging and rewarding,
The other journey as well will be enriching.
Come what may, with a smile,
I will cross the horizon line
Where the rainbows shine
In colors fine.
