Beyond the dilemma
Of the mask
The eternal question
Asked:
Is it a virtue or a sin
To uncover the face
Behind the grin ?
For even at the end
You hug your name
And what matters most
Is not how long you lived,
Won or lost tabloid fame
But how you touched
The lives of others
And how you let
Their lives touch yours.
It is to the delight of the reader how the author brings his inimitable poetic acumen to bear on even weighty existential concerns.
