Her father and mother died
Her husband beat her and left her
She had no children, to care
The man who owed her big money
would he pay her back now
in the hour and time of her need?
Penniless, she waited to know
The dice would fall
The Glory that was Jesus
was not in his life only
but on the cross, helpless
Tasting that vinegar she waited
Which way would it go?
To give up one’s spirit or not?
A sombre and reflective work that broaches much deeper themes and subject matter.
