The flight

When me tossed about
in the night time lies
the soft pillows like
roses their thorns do prick
the turned over pages
of my life’s little book
amazes me
that I turn over to flip
the pages one by one
the edges to smooth .

What amusement I find
smile laugh sigh and cry
over the words
that rise and glide
in thousands of colors
that my eyes hither too
have not seen.

I dip in sail and rise above
the pain
for life I see has dealt better
with me than I have
to many , many a time:
