The Eternal Sakha

He is One amongst Us,
Yet he is the omnipresent Narayan.
He was a herder and the milkman,
Yet he runs the world on its pace.
He is a divine listener,
Listening to plight of one and all.
Of Sudama he was the forever pal,
Of Arjuna, the friend and the guide.
Radha found her soulmate in him,
And Meera the divine lover.
Rukmini’s spouse and son of two mothers.
He is the ultimate friend come true,
Guiding on the path,
Giving you the choices,
His practical advice’s are best among all.
Only one who can save you from being ruined,
and the one teaches about Karma.
Who else but He can tell about our duties and responsibilities,
even in the midst of a battlefield.
And yet die the death of a commoner,
With a misguided arrow.
He is the one who doesn’t claim to be an ideal for all,
Yet He is the one who teaches and walks the path of life
with all his practical,contemporary teachings.
He is not the one to set an ideal only,
He is the one in highs and lows with us.
He is the eternal Sakha.

**Narayan-Lord Vishnu.
