The dawn re-born

Drowned and doomed
Into a deep slumber
The meadow wore a frightful look!
Who has forced its salient grip?
The sluggish night,
Or the silent sky….?
The cool breeze froze…,
The air kept deadly still,
With each and every dream chilled…
Gulped the whole senses that prevailed
And …the ultimate existence…!

Alas! Just a moment’s chime!
As a drop tickled
So tiny, an embryo broke open
It’s the light of beauty and joy,
The stunning desire of triumph
From a hidden comfortable womb
Slid open the soft lids
Peeped out a fragrant smile
And uttered a shrill cry!
A cute fly, in its best attire
Swung it’s frilled frock,
Flapped open the little wings
And …hoped up, with awe!
Startlingly delighted
All the hearts and souls
Burst out with cheer
A chain of happiness crackling..!
Look, beaming upright in the horizon
Is the sign of grace!
Yes, the golden dawn is re-born!

Despite the poem’s deceptively easy going and meandering style,it manages to address major themes and concerns ; hope ,optimism and the trials of the unbreakable human spirit.
