The Brim

Moist and shiny they lure,
They quiver and entice.
They open to accept,
They seal to silent.
They may heal,
They may hurt.
They pucker if unusable,
They pout to invite pain.
They are my silence,
They are your voice.
Let mine be close to yours,
Let’s make this ultimate choice.

“The brim”, at first sight may seem somewhat of a delicate confection but does repay the attentive reader with more substantial depths of insight.
