leper messiah

He’s gone away

& won’t be back ,

all his future words

will remain unwritten ,

all future songs

unsung ,

all future art

unpainted & undrawn ;

All the Young Dudes too

are faded & gone ,

& the Spiders from Mars

are out of tune :

however the day ends

its epitaph remains :-

” Ziggy played guitar “.

Sacrificial Offerings

We offered our eyes to the blind ,

but they didn’t want to see ;

We wanted to give our ears to the deaf ,

yet they had no desire to listen ;

We offered the use of our arms and legs to the limbless ,

but they didn’t want to go anywhere or do anything ;

We would have given the illiterate our words ,

We would have offered the dumb our voice ,

We would have given the aborted our lives ,

We’d even give The monochrome our colours ;

but there is no-one ,no-one ,no-one

to give anything to.

Another Early ’70’s Neil Young Song : Time Lost

Did you ever wake up

in the middle of the night ,

wandering where the life went

you should’ve led ?

And did you ever wonder

in the middle of the day ,

what happened to all

those books you never read ?

And at day’s end

in your lonely room ,

did the thought ever strike you

what became of that woman

that you never met ?

1970’s Rock Song

Stood at the mouth of the Volcano
staring down from on high ,
right into the heart of the inferno
can’t you see mankind’s troubles
can’t you hear our cry ?

There in the flames
millions of faces
choking with despair
their lives thrown on the Pyre
by Rulers who don’t care ;

the Rich and powerful do as they please
chaining millions to war.poverty,hunger and disease ,
Presidents ,Kings and bosses burning all our hopes with their greed ,
turning our dreams into ashes
as they sit back and watch us bleed ;

Stood at the mouth of the Volcano
staring down from on high ,
can’t you see mankind’s troubles
can’t you hear our cry ?
