Postcards

Once every year, like summer solstice
On a brightest day in heart, I penned
Shy words of friendship hiding affection
Asking you of the the far away campus
And lectures that I never joined with
Blotched postcards that never left drawers.

Shashikala S. is Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Rutgers University, USA working on developmental genetic and cellbiology. She has a doctorate in Proteomics and Cell Biology (Bio-technology) from Rajiv Gandhi Centre of Biotechnology (DBT), INDIA.
