Screams of the little girl fleeing condemn
scattered bodies soaked in red maim
tears tear hearts sensitive seeing them
world’s ways end where violence’s domain
What can I do to restrain pain
My deep prayers on this occasion
I can make a cushion of words
for you to rest your tired head on
offer you hugs of rhythmic songs
to listen and forget heartburn
I offer blanket of verses
to fight the ice cold pain that seeps
I offer the silence of prayers
to heal your heart drowned in abyss
I offer you white dove of peace
to pray and forgive your culprits
for they who erred don’t know their deeds
brainwashed they were to hurt all indeed
Curse not the ignorant who stray
May peace prevail today, always!
