Nestled Upon Sheaves

I saw you lying, nestled upon sheaves

of glimmering green

touched by Gods’ loving heart

as all around dawns’ chorus, had begun.

Hushed and stilled

your songs once thrilled,

Softening the hardest of hearts.

For lying breathless

as new life is touched

By Gods’ own breath, is breathed.

‘Be at Peace, my feathered friend

Your love has served Thee well.

For now encircled by My Love

Is your Eternal Soul.”

This poem conveys the qualities of the proverbial ” still, small voice “, appropriate to its subject matter.
