Eyes hooked on the T.V screen,
Promptly, she becomes part
of Princess Sofia’s
and Frozen’s dreams
Even in her real childhood’s life,
my little niece loves to be like
her girlish idols
of popular animated cartoons
Her silky dresses,
Her fancy shiny shoes,
Her fashionable watch,
Her delicate hair bands
and her little bag
– all bear the brands
‘Sofia’ or ‘Frozen’
Chin held up high,
she walks like a princess
in her castle and garden,
Her confident smile says
that she’s witty
and intelligent enough
to be the leader
of the children’s world
and she aspires to be
the winner in her own way.
Vatsala Radhakeesoon
Allegorical in the truest sense, this skilfully crafted commentary on contemporary mores is delivered with the author’s customary aplomb.

Thanks Ms.Nalini
A delightful,engaging poem.
Thanks Mr.Vijay
Being somewhat familiar with Frozen (and Sophia), courtesy of my grandchildren with whom I enjoy their movies, I can appreciate the nuances of Vatsala’s poem.
I get the feeling that this is a first in an on-going series; I impatiently await the follow-up! Let us have more, Vatsala! The first is magnificent enough that I cannot but wait in anticipation.
Thank you for sharing.
