My Elixir

Unaware I, where does time slip

My space and span limited, I’m shared

Like butterfly, here – there I flit

Chores various have me ensnared

Freedom I need as my birthright

Just to pen verses how I fight

Don’t deprive, Lord, I need respite

I don’t claim luxuries or prize

Poetry’s my elixir my life
